Coming soon to this space...

Here I will on a consistent occasional basis offer thoughts, opinions, examples, hints, tips, anecdotes, etc. on the issues of message, media, persuasion, presentation, performance, and the power of story.

In addition to my years as a radio host, I bring a unique mix of experiences to the issues of this blog. I'm an award-winning Harvard graduate in Social Relations; with a twenty year acting career; several years as an acting teacher; director of plays, music videos, and documentaries; writer of screenplays, books, articles, and ad and marketing copy; ten years consulting and facilitating communication, planning, and conflict resolution; and five years of speeches and trainings around the country in strategic communications and the power of story.

Hi Terrence,

I have listened often (and am a subscriber to KPFK) to your program Free Forum mid-day Tuesdays. I am fascinated by your quest:- "Looking for pieces of the puzzle for a world that might work"

We humans have a habit of seeking solutions to complex problems and coming up with easy solutions.

We, I contend, have it backwards. Until we can define the problem SIMPLY, only then might we come up with a solution but I contend the solution will inevitably be complex.

I have for the the last 35 years been searching for the real nature of mankind, being convinced that all we really knew was our behavior. I believe I have found it. The problem is extremely simple, but the solution is massively complex BUT, I feel, do-able if we act fast. If not we will annihilate ourselves and perhaps the rest of life on this planet before the end of this century. The answer does not lie with religion, spirituality nor in politics or philosophy and certainly not in economics. Least ways our current concepts of economics.

I have written a book (128 pages) outlining my judgment. I feel strongly you would find it fascinating, if as you say, your are searching for pieces of the puzzle.

if jack is a listener.. as he has stated.. then he has not heard..
your show, Free Forum, takes so many points of view and looks for different answers, not as a one in all solution, rather as part of a larger picture..
environmental, political, local, global, mental, psychological, nutrition,.. everything.
and that is what is meant by
"pieces of the puzzle of a world that might work"
